Some weeks ago I tasted peanut butter. I loved the taste and then I started to research other types of butter made from nuts. I discovered the almond butter, a recipe that I bring to you today with a special touch: the almonds are previously roasted for better extraction of its natural oils. As everyone knows almond, as well as tasty, has numerous benefits for our health and is an excellent source of healthy fat. The almond butter can be used in the preparation of desserts (something I will share later), cookies or just on bread!
Lately it has been something that I always have on the refrigerator for whatever I want. You will see how easy and super simple it is to make your own butter. The recipe has only one ingredient which allows you to control the quality of the butter, in addition it can be kept for a long time in the refrigerator.
Let's get busy!
Ingredients
- 500 grams of almonds
Preparation
Spread the almonds in a tray with parchment paper. We used 500 grams but you can use any other quantity. Take the tray to the preheated oven at 180 °C and toast the almonds for 15 minutes (or until golden brown). Remove the tray from the oven and allow the almonds to cool completely. Grind the almonds (in this case you should divide them to obtain a creamy butter) and gradually scrape the sides of the food processor with a spoon. Continue to grind until they have a more homogenous and creamy texture. As soon as you get a butter worthy of your name, put it in a jar / container and refrigerate.
