Whole wheat bread: scent of freshly baked bread

Those who know me know that I am crazy about one thing: Bread! It is such a simple product but it has so much to give. The pleasures to knead the dough, to have the wood in the oven warming the house, the delicious smell around the house are priceless.

That is why I decided to make my first post about bread!

I have already experimented several times of bread and yesterday was time to experiment brown bread. I am used to make large quantities of bread, but yesterday I did not had a wooden oven so I decided to make a single loaf of bread, enough quantity for two persons to eat in a week.


- 500 grams of wholemeal flour

- 100 grams of oat flakes

- Water and Salt

- Linseed, chia a sesame seeds


Start by gridding the oak flakes in a mixer to create a oatmeal flour.

Join the two different flours in a bowl. In another bowl dissolve the salt in the water. Then little by little incorporate the warm water in the flour. Knead the dough while adding warm water until it gets consistent and start to get air pockets. Be careful so the dough does get neither too hard nor too soft because that will be reflected in the quality of the bread.

After kneaded cover the dough and set a side so the raises.

One hour later the dough is ready to go to the oven. In my case I made loaf bread, but you can do any kind of bread. Then add the seeds in the top of the bread as you wish.

Now just take the bread to the oven at 180C degrees and wait.. in the end just enjoy it!
